Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy Honored for Contributions in Health Care

Swartz Creek, MI – April 29, 2009 – Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy announced that it was honored by Michigan State Senator John Gleason on Tuesday, April 28 at Diabetes and Kidney Day in Lansing, MI. The event was sponsored by the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan (NKFM) and other organizations interested in diabetes and kidney care.
Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy was recognized for the outstanding health care contributions it provides through its CKD Navigator patient care program, in partnership with CareSource Michigan and the NKFM. The program provides medication therapy review, adherence tools, lifestyle managment techniques, a communication continuum, enhanced patient and physician education, and goal setting. The program is the first comprehensive CKD program that incorporates both disease management and medication therapy management. Diplomat also values and supports the NKFM Kids’ Camp and drug bank program. Ron Alexander, Vice President of Clinical Services for Diplomat accepted the honor from Sen. Gleason.
