Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy Promotes Rinku A. Patel, PharmD to Vice President,Pharmacy Strategy

Swartz Creek, Mich., June 2, 2009 – Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy today announced the promotion of Dr. Rinku A. Patel to Vice President, Pharmacy Strategy. Patel was previously Diplomat’s Director of Pharmacy Development and Operations. Patel’s new role will encompass 3 main areas:- Pharmacy Technology – Direct and manage the pharmacy’s operating system, the company’s proprietary electronic patient care system (eNAV™), and future technology developments related to pharmacy systems operations.
- Pharmacy Operations- Support the development and implementation of Diplomat’s expanding business lines, including contracts with Managed Care, Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, Clinical Research Organizations and other industry stakeholders.
- Pharmacy Clinical Services- Lead the company’s expanding team of clinical pharmacists in the continued development of Diplomat’s high-touch pharmaceutical care programs.

Dr. Patel is a registered pharmacist with over 10 years of operational and strategic development experience in the areas of Specialty, Home Infusion, and Pharmacy Technology. Prior to joining Diplomat she was the Director of Procurement & Pharma Relations at Walgreen/OptionCare; and at Caremark, Dr. Patel was the Manager of Contracts and Trade Relations and served as an IT Pharmacist. Dr. Patel is a graduate of the Bachelors in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy programs at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois.
